- The Stone: This is quartz with blue mineral inclusions, often called blue rutilated quartz. The deep blue-grey color and visible needle-like structures inside each bead come from dumortierite. This is an aluminum borosilicate mineral named after French paleontologist Eugène Dumortier. Each bead is completely unique. Some are darker, some lighter, and some show more visible needles than others. Set between sterling silver disc spacers and finished with a sterling silver clasp.
